I started making a fishing invention last year...until......I saw how much a patent cost. Catman all I can say is great minds think alike. Same thought a lot different looking.

Hey Catman. We need to design one that will fit somehow in a pool noodle! We could sell the crap out of them!

that what we use is pool noodles can get about 4 fishing jugs off one big pool noodle cut them then take a coat hanger bend it and stick it threw the float with 2 tips hanging out set them to the top of noodle then tie line to bottom of coat hanger and set it up with hook and add weight and adjust line to depth of water...fish can't pull coat hanger out cause the tips hit the side and won't go threw it ... we added flashing led's to it but sometimes water makes them die out fast when fish splash or go under... haven't figured out to make it more waterproof
silicone is a good waterproofer. You would need some kind of rubber gasket for the battery door so it would still be removable for changing the batteries.

yeah it would be a pain to get something patented and not know if it will really sell well or not. And if you start selling it without getting a patent then some bigger company can start making them and get it patented. Seems like you'd have to have some money stowed away if you want to sell an invention...

Man that brings back some memories.
My buddy Jimmy made some of his jugs with flashing lights when they were hit.

I sure miss him.

I found a fishing jug noodle online that has a battery operated bright led attached to top of it. It only comes on when the jug noodle tilts 45 degrees or more. I bought a few and you can see these bad boys 100's of yards at night. Beats the heck out of taped on glow sticks and it even comes with protector caps with reflector tape on each end. The website is http://www.katkandle.com check them out.

Just saw this.

My buddy that died made one kinda like this.
Motion activated led flashing red light.

He used 4" pvc about 18" long with a cap on each end.
He put nuts or rocks in them so you could hear when they hit too.

I don't jug fish but this seems to be something that could be useful for those that do.
