My SS class had special prayer for Matthew yesterday... as well as for your whole family. We will continue. Praying and believing that God will be his Healer, as well as the families Peace, Comfort and Hope.

Well, hoping I SURE dont make his Surgeon mad but my 2nd opinion process started today.. I'm just getting 0 answers on the pain/headaches and the CSF drainage issue so I'm calling in an old friend!
Our original neuro surgeon works out of Lebohner in Memphis and since the seizure surgery itself was out of his specialty list we went to Vandy for this.. What's remaining now, infection, bone flap replacement, Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy are all IN his list of specialties - I'm having a copy of all records sent to him per his nurse this morning.. Given our status and seeming lack of answers we all prayed, including Matthew, and ALL 3 came up with the SAME conclusion - let's talk with our old doc from Memphis and see what he thinks.. He also told Matthew when he was 19 and saw him at Lebohner Childrens Hospital - that he would see him in that hospital for as long as he practiced if he wanted.. Not sure how many of you have gone from the Childrens Hospital world to the Adult Hospital world, with your child, but it's a life changing event.. I really wont expand much but the Childrens Hospital staff are SO compassionate and reactive whereas in the adult hospital - not so much. Matthew having had this happen as he turned 17 and then having to have been managed by us somewhat for the last 4 yrs has kept him from being fully prepared to make the transition - or maybe it was just a huge disappointment for him to see the difference - either way, we are going to get a 2nd opinion and open up some options for Matthew - Lebohner being one of those options.

Sitting now, in my sons room with him, watching Courageous - the movie... SO many things about being a father to be taken from this movie.. SO many things to Praise and thank God for in our lives - that come to light in watching this movie.. And as I watch this movie, even given Matthews last 4 yrs have been very tough and Kim's, Jacob's and mine as well, I thank God for every single minute He has blessed me with to have my family...
Not much else to say but that I am glad I watched this movie and hope those of you who have not will and that those of you who have take it to heart because our God is real and gives us blessings that we so often take for granted - something I myself have done too often..
Praise God for all Blessings!
