Put your ladder stand platform down against the ground and lean the ladder against the tree. Then climb the ladder and put a piece of chain around the tree where the end of the ladder is, after that tie some rope to the platform where it would touch the tree and run the rope through between the chain and the tree with the bottom of the ladder against the tree. Then pull the rope and it will pull the platform up to the chain. When it does, tie the rope off and set the legs out from the tree. Then you can sturdy the stand and finish securing it to the tree all by yourself.

Just make sure you secure it to tree when you first climb the ladder to put the chain aroun the tree do it doesn't slide or lean back away from the tree.

The only way I put mine up is with HELP. It is always a 2 person job. I don't recommend trying it yourself.

Like elkman, I use my 4-wheeler. First thing I do is light my Thermacell because I do all of this work in the summer. Then I tie a hammer to a piece of string and throw that over a branch. Then tie the string to a rope and pull the heavy rope over the branch. Tie one end to the ATV, and the other to the stand. I put 2 concrete blocks dug into the ground about 6 inches at the stand base legs to keep them from sliding. Then just pull the stand up with the ATV, secure it, load my tools and concrete blocks up and go home.
