My brother-in-law shot a big doe at 40 yds. with the 250 gr. SW out of his Encore this past season and didn't get a pass-thru. I on the other hand, shot a 6-pt. at 100 yds. with the 300 gr. Barnes out of my Knight and got a pass-thru and lots of blood.

I have used the 200 gr in .50 cal with great results. Last year they were 3 for 3 with 70 yards being the longest tracking job.

I can't help you Gramps on the 300 because my TC is in .45 but the shockwaves in 200 gr and .45 have worked well since it set the thing up a few years ago.

I've killed 4-5 with the 250gr. Shockwave since they came on the market. All but one basically dropped in their tracks. But, I've yet to get an exit wound with one-and very poor bloodtrail for the couple that ran. They are great shooting bullets that I am comfortable with around fields or open areas where I can watch the deer run off. I'd be reluctant to use them hunting in thick cover.

Barnes Spitfire.......no substitute.
Used to use the Shockwave but they were so hard to load in my
Encore. Switched to the Barnes and haven't looked back.

the shockwaves in the 300 grain w/ 10 grains of 777 shoot well in my encore but I still have a lack of blood trail issue.I lost a nice buck last season .no blood sign at all. I hope I missed him but not at that range.I did not see him for the rest of the season. I had one doe go around 40 yards without a blood trail. A good buddy has shoot several with the 250 grain and had the same issues.
ditto for me too !! i got a bunch of 250s if you want them you can have em imho they shoot very good at targets , but suck at killing deer!

The 300 gr shockwave killed the snot out of this deer. Complete pass thru on a shoulder shot around 75 yards. (BTW, my first time to use the 300gr shockwave, so it's not like I have a ton of experience with the bullet.)

Anyone shot anything with the bonded shockwaves? I've got a box in my range box I'm going to be testing on the range this weekend. I'm curious about the terminal performance of the bonded vs. the regular shockwaves.
