Took a look at this the other day, GLAD to see a name like Browning put out some quality wool items. Their new Full Curl line really interests me. I woulda grabbed a FC 3 in 1 parka the other day but the store was out of XL or XXL sizes. I have enjoyed my Browning Quad Parka for nearly 20 years and have several other coats as well but I REALLY like wool for its lightweight and lack of bulk or weight. This new Full Curl parka has a zip in down vest liner, should REALLY be warm. I bought a set of wool Columbia bibs earlier this year and LOVE em!

Anyone else like wool?

I wear the Columbia wool myself. It is Great for sure. Not too bulky and very quiet.

Well what the heck, I decided to try it. Gander Mtn and Bass Pro both had the 3in1 Parka listed for $199. I found it on sale on MidwayUSA for $118! (they had 2 left in stock) If I don't like it then I wont be out much, will hang on the cedar closet for guests. I nearly ordered the Cabelas wool parka but having never tried it on I hesitated for that reason. It might be my next wool coat if this Browning isn't to my liking.

Next stop... Filson Double Mac or the Beagle Outdoor "super dyna-whoppers".

LOVE me some wool,
HL

I have an old wool parka that is the treebark camo. Been a while since I've actually worn it because it's so hot. Can't remember where I got it but I believe Cabela's some 15 or so years ago.

Boy they work fast! The brown truck left a box on the steps today. The parka is a little thin but I expected it to be since its only 7oz wool. But with a fleece like lining and the down vest liner it should be plenty warm for above freezing stints on stand. Got it seperated and hangin out back to air out and tryout this weekend.
Size wise they are cut a little tight. I'm 6'3" 245 and ideally I'd want them about a inch or so longer. Zipped up there's plenty room for my bibs and my customary flannel or chamois shirt, but with a sweater or thin jacket on it'd be tighter than I like. This would make a PERFECT late season bowhunting coat, especially if you travel north or west flingin stix.
I think it will be a great coat for stand sitting anytime above freezing and will be AWESOME on those rare days I stay on the ground and slink around hoping to spot them before they see me! ;\)

I think for a true HEAVYWEIGHT, "sub artic" sit in the stands type wool parka I'm goin to breakdown and order either the Dbl Mac from Filson or the extreme series coat from Beagle Wear. (if the Dbl Mac had a front zipper, lined collar and elastic cuffs it'd be a NO BRAINER!
