I have probably 50 in there past 30 years here in giles co Saw 3 or 4 walking together last year while deer hunting. I had one that lived in front of my house for a while in a brush pile that actually had a red collar on. I told me the GW about it and I he guessed someone had tried to make a pet out of it.a good friend of mine used to trap and snare them .

For twenty years I regularly hunted 3 states (Benton county MS, Fayette county TN & the confluence of 3 counties north of Hardy AR in southern MO) and in that 20 year span I saw 4-5 bobcats. Now since I bought my place in Haywood County on the Hatchie I see them WEEKLY! My place has PLENTY of them. They are nifty critters and I've been waiting for the post rut so I can bust one to be mounted without worry of hurting any chances of seeing a big buck. I'm figuring after about Dec 15 a putty tat IS goin down!

I've seen 5 or 6 in the woods. I killed one about 15 years ago that was creeping up behind me while I sat on a bucket at the corner of a field.
Scared me to death - I heard a twig snap behind me. I spun around, and the bobcat was doing a belly crawl at me and was about 25 feet away. I just swung the gun around and rolled him.
In hindsight, I think (hope) he would have stopped once he got closer and realized I wasn't a little rabbit or something. He was probably 3/4 of mature size.
All of them I've ever seen were in Shelby, Fayette, or Haywood counties.

I have seen many bobcats and killed several. I passed on two this year because I have two mounted and don't see any need of killing anymore. They are beautiful. What I don't ever see and would love to kill is a fox. In my 30+ years of hunting I have only seen two while hunting and never killed one.
