I've been a rifle hunter most all my huntin' years and am now startin too get into some archery hunting. I have an older browning bow thats way outdated and I'm lookin to get a newer one without spending a fortune. Any suggestions on what kind of bow to be on the lookout for?

recently I pruchased a Diamond (by bowtech) Razors Edge. Comes with a wide range of draw length (up to 29in) and up to a 60lb draw weight. I paid 349 at gander mountain but online you can order them for 329.00. Comes with sight, wrist sling, quiver, rest, etc....i have been very impressed. havent put it through the chrono yet but they say its a lil over 300 fps at 60lbs but thats their claim not mine. its quiet, and short (axle to axle) which makes it nice in a treestand. I think it weighs 3.4 lbs
good luck in your search!

go shoot as many bows as you can get your hands on. you will know when you shoot "the one" for you.

ArcheryTalk.com has a classifieds section which is great. I have bought a couple of bows off it with no problems.

Thanks for all of the advice! I ended up buyin a brand new 2010 Hoyt Alphamax for only 400. Which is less than half of the original price. Shoots great, awesome bow.
