homemade ladder stand

just wondering of anybody had some tips for a small maybe 8 to 10 foot ladder stand with small platform.maybe lookin to build a couple for any spots i come on just walking around.anything would help.plus any ways to cut cost

I qyit making them when I found out you could get a basic 15 footer on sale at Dick's for around $50 every year. My home made ones were heavier, shorter, and probably not as safe. I spent darn near $50 on them anyway, by the time I bought material, paint, and chain to attach them.

+1. Walmart has $49 stands, and Dicks runs them for $50... I spend that much in time and materials trying to put one together. I just bought 2 from WalMart for $49 each and put one up last night. Nothing wrong with making one myself, but it's just SO much easier to buy them for about the same $$$ as building my own.
