UA didn't do the trick for me. I went with an off brand heavyweight base layer system and really like it. I do get too hot walking in with it on from time to time however. My next set will be 2 layers. A generic lightweight top and bottom and a heavyweight polartec fleece top and bottom.

for years i wore one of the red union suits from LL Bean. It was a wool blend. plenty warm. I finally broke down last year and bought the UA 2.0 and i'm sold on it.

Wal-Mart carries a line of Rocky base layers. Also, Cabela's has plenty to choose from in their Bargain Cave section! The UA stuff is worth the money tho imo. I actually just bought some medium weight Scent-Lok base layer stuff. $90.00 bucks the top but it's really nice.
