You don't have to do anything to the omega breech plug. My father and i both use omegas. We switched to blackhorn 209 this year and we both love it. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Southern, The Omega is fine as it is. Just keep the 1/8" drill bit handy on the range and clean the flash channel every 10 shots or so and its fine. I like to clean every 6 to 10 shots otherwise i can start seeing my groups open up.

You like to clean the flash channel every 6-10 shots or the barrel? Will fouling in the flash channel affect the groups?

flash channel.

Excessive build up in the flash channel can cause erratic groups but the main killer, it could hang fire on you.

Now that one could probably use the flash channel & flash hole enlarged. I typically enlarge my flash channels to 5/32" as i do a LOT of target shooting and the larger channel gives me more shots with less cleaning.

Flash hole size i'd go with a .035" size. Thats a #65 drill bit. Tiny little things but you normally can find kits on ebay.

same here..just switched and i love it..my omega loves it..and all i could find was the cci209 primer..didnt have the 209m in stock..didnt drill nothin..all i did was give it a extreem cleaning and oiling..dryed her up..and started working up a load..110g of bh..and the 250g sst's was as far as i had to work..all 3 would have been touching had i not loaded a 300g shockwave instead of the sst on the low/right shot in the 110g group..never cleaned between shots..last one loaded as easy as the first..i'll never use nothing else..
