I was just wondering what apps people use..
I use 4 apps..
1)Time2Hunt .. this app gives daily hunting forecast .. takes complex solar/lunar data & calculates the best times to go hunting.. also provides daily/hourly hunting forecast, sunrise/sunset times and moon phase data..(available only for droid phones)
2) ActInNature ... This app is really cool.. great when your hunting with others..give u ability to track your own moves and others that are running app..observe position, distance and movement direction of other hunters (map is powered by google).. Save hits with a picture and additional info (like weather, gps position, target and result) available for both droid and Iphone more info (ActInNature.com)
3) Deer call ...app has multiple calls 4 Whitetail Hunting ...another deer call app

Hey guys try the scoutlook app. You can actually use the google map with it to mark your position and just about see th darn tree your sitting in. It also helps that you can kinda see whats over the next hill etc.

I use The Hunting Journal for my iPhone. It uses the GPS feature and maps as well. You can also mark sightings, and log them. There is the free version and a pay version as well.

So Guys i just got a android smart phone and i want an app that will help me navigate my way on a mountain mainly to scout good hunting spots. i looked at cabelas app but there were some negative feedback. apparently the one feature thats nice is to have downloaded maps in case you lose signal. any suggestions?

my $0.02; Back Country Navigator You can download static maps and then use them in airplane mode when you do not have signal. I even used this in Thailand with no cell service. You can export data to use GPS visualizer and make Google earth overlays. It also has a nice feature to prerecord a track which I used to outline the property boundary. ; Mossy Oak Hunting is a free version of ScoutLook, but cell service is required. it gives you a scent cone representation and general wind speed. ; GPS Status works with just GPS and is a good compass when out of cell range. It also gives you inclination (pitch & roll). ; Strelok+ if you are shooting distance shots. The free version will allow you to input your load data and select your reticule for shot placement. The + version will give you the option for scope zoom levels and its nice to check aiming points from a location using distance from a range finder. It also will compensate wind speed. I was able to drop a nice doe at 277 yards zeroed at 100 yds.

The cabelas app is fine if you have cell signal. BCN has blood markers and most standard icons and will work without cell service. I have it also and it is decent. It all really depends on your location. I wish we could get one combined app, or an interactive between them. Try the free version of BCN archer19 next time you go out. its only valid for 30 days though so wait till you are going scouting or hunting.
