I've used several different style packs for deer hunting. I believe I just found my favorite: Ol' Tom Essentials Vest.
After removing the seat, you're left with the ideal hunting pack. It's light weight, low profile, and very accessible.
I have all my essential gear I need when walking in/out, hanging a stand, and during the hunt.
The decoy pouch is perfect for storing extra clothes while you walk in.
Best of all, the spine pad make leaning against a tree and carrying a stand on your back much more comfortable. No more strapping your pack on your treestand while you hike in!

I used to use my turkey vest for bowhunting. It's nice to have about everything in a pocket on you. That way you don't have to dig through a pack of have it hung everywhere.
