disclaimer, the hikes I mentioned are "moderate" hikes depending on your physical fitness. After a couple hours sweating and a few unexpected blisters, your better half (or you) might not think it such a great idea. Might jeopardize your evening plans. \:D

There is a waterfall a few miles past Sugarlands Visitor Center that is a fairly easy\short hike. Can't remeber the name though.

Spent 2 nights up there this past weekend.....We stayed at the Riverhouse At the Park... There is a trail that runs from our hotel to the Sugarland visitors center... We hiked to and fro...A total trip of 4 miles...
Each evening around dark we would walk from one end of Gatlinburg to the other, about 2 miles....
We went one day to Clingmans dome.. Super nice.. The temp that day up there was a toasty 70-Deg.....
Ocaasionally we will do a 1 day trip... We start out by going thru Cades Cove and end the day at Jose's Cantina in Gatlinburg....(no alcoholic beverages for us just water)....

If you dont like people, stay away from downtown Gatlinburg...

Walk from sugar land to Cataract Fall is less than a half mile. Trail starts in the visitor center grounds.
Peddler for dinner call ahead and tell them its a special evening and they will have candlelight and nice table setting.
