Yea most everyone did.

Favorite story from those days and totally true. Woman at work had a long comute and got a cb but didnt know what to use for a handle. Couple of the guys there were into CB and told her since she worked so hard she should use the Eager Beaver. She was very popular till she caught on.

Had a Cobra 148 tuned and a k40 antenna. Used it all the time. Still do from time on road trips.

First thing that went on the truck was the toolbox with the 102" steel whip... just bought the truck 3 weeks ago so as you can tell, I still use the CB.

I had a Galaxy 66 that had been peaked and tuned. I also ran a linear from time to time. I was given the name lone ranger because I was always by myself in my little white ranger truck.

My Grandpa had a Tramm 440 and would talk to CA on a regular basis. His handle was "Big Daddy"(he was a large man) or "Old man on the mtn", depending on who he was talking to. He had some kind of directional antenna mount on a tall tower with an electric motor to turn it with from his bedroom. Our house was 100 yrds away but if he had those beams turned towards the house, when he keyed up it would mess up the picture and we could hear him talking through our tv. Daddy would try and watch the news and he would hear "Breeeaakk...Breeeaakk...This is the Triple Nickle in TN...I'm trying....Breeeaakk"
