Not for it. i work for a company who deals with folks returning mdse that has either been stolen from a job site or was stolen from dumpster diving. The dumpster should be considered "private property" and off limits but to those who leased it.

me and dad do that with scrap metal.we take and ask the guy thats incharge of everything and.we usely have about 3 or 4 pick trucks full of scrap metal.and he told us that he ran people off because they never ask for permission to get it out of the dumbster and they make a mess when they get it out and never pick the stuff they knock out up and put it back in the dumbster.but everytime we find a new place being rentavated or redone on the inside we always ask and see if they have any scrap metal to get rid of.and sometimes they help us load it on or truck and trailer.but they uesly keep the copper that they take out of it.but me and dad said thats all right because if you take in too much psc in knoxville thinks you stoled it someplace and have the cops on you for it.but i'm watching a place right now for scrap ply wood and stuff so i can build me a new; hunting box blind out of it.

I lived in an apartment complex for a while. Didn't think of dumpster diving until I saw a fishing rod sticking out of the dumpsters. I have gotten computers, software, furniture, Clothes drying racks, bicycles, and I don't know what all. Even made a little money off of some of it.

Best time to go is in the middle of the day while people are around. People working can usually point you in the rite direction of someone in charge. Most likely they will have no problem at all. Going after hours will just look suspicious and could get you in trouble. There are alot of people these days steeling any and everything from construction sites. I wouldn't want to be confused with one of them.
