Anyone use magnets to store or stash guns in convenient places?

I have had two of these for a while and like them a lot:

They mount anywhere...under a table, the underside of a nightstand drawer, above doorways etc...

I recently (as in 10 min's ago) ordered 10 of these to attempt to make my own.

I figure a can or rubberized spray paint will be enough to protect the gun.

Here's what I came up with a few pictures just experimenting with a fence board One magnet held it pretty well, but I'll go with 2.

1 magnet:


2 magnets allow you to adjust its "tilt/position/angle" wherever you mount it:


I used duct-tape in my experiment, but would use thin leather or something for long-term use.

thats a nice looking pistol,is it stainless? ,magnets dont normaly stick to stainless of a certain grade you might want to ck

Its a Smith and Wesson Tactical mod 4013. not exactly sure of the makeup, I've had the pistol for almost 20 years I think it's "Stainless alloy" whatever that is. I love the gun.
