If every vehicle I have ever owned could talk, it would tell you that from the day that I purchased them new, their oil and filter was changed every 3,000 miles. And most of them had over 150,000 miles on them when I sold them. I sold my 1994 Chevrolet Silverado and my 1999 Chevrolet Ext. Cab Z71 to individuals in my small hometown and both vehicles are still functioning as well now as they did the day that I sold them. My 2005 Chevy Crew Cab Z71 has 122,000 on it and it still purrs lke a kitten. And my oil of choice over the years has been Quaker State.

Every 5000. I had an old truck when I was younger that I must have put 50,000 miles on it and never had to change the oil, all I had to do is add a quart every fill up. Miss that old truck. I had a Dodge D50 4x4 like that! I changed the filter once a year whether it needed it or not...lol Between what it leaked and what it burned the oil always stayed clean because I was putting oil in it at least once a week. It had 160,000+ when I got rid of it.
