Anyone have or know someone who has Restless Legs Syndrome? I'm starting to wonder if I've got it. My left leg feels like it's tense and cramped, especially in the evening when it's time to wind down. There's several nights where I don't sleep well because of it. It doesn't seem to bother me much during the day, although my leg gets cramped if I sit down for an extended period of time (like at work behind a desk).

That is what Papaw describes. You may want to have a Dr. check it out. Or you can do what I do and just suffer. lol I just have to keep mine moving to keep them from driving me nuts. Mine is more like something crawling thru the muscle. You can actually see it when it does it.

No it's just more of a cramping tense feeling. I guess I've had it since November. I guess I strained it either working out, climbing up a treestand, or wading in the river...it was around Thanksgiving when I first noticed it. I didn't think anything of it and figured it'd be gone in a few days. The doctor x-rayed it and didn't find anything, and gave me some daypro, which didn't really work. After going through a bottle of Advil in the past month or two, I figure it's time to see the doctor about it again.

Good call. If it is affecting your sleep, it's time to get something done about it.

My wife has it. Neither her OB nor our Family Medicine doctor knew anything about it. She went to a Neurologist & he put her on LovoDopa/CarbiDopa, like people with Parkinson's Disease take. She was better for a while but her symptoms started coming back. She went to another Neurologist (the first guy had moved away) who put her on Requip. That did the trick. She can now sleep thru the night & I no longer feel like I'm laying down beside someone who is tap dancing!

Moondawg,
My chiropractor fixed mine. Go to Atoka Chiropractic. It's worth a try.

You just described my Brides symptoms to a tee! Every night when she gets tired you can see the legs muscles move and then she starts moving her legs and feet. Does not seem to bother her sleep though, girl can flip that sleep switch quick!

stretching seems to help.
Especially the hamstrings/low back/glutes.

If you think it's more cramping, twitching or tightness(like mine was). My doctor recommended I drink a Canada Dry club soda (or maybe it was tonic water). I forget buy it's the one that's bitter. It's bitter due to Quinine in the water. That's the additive that will help the cramping. Mine was more like a Charlie horse cramp.

Anyway that Canadry Dry stuff tastes awful.

I'm not kicking in my sleep or anything, it just feels tense and cramped. Once I get up and move around, it works itself out and feels better...or at least less tense/cramped.

Fishboy, I actually did a little stretching last night before bed, and it seemed to help.

Gonna consult with the doc about it. Might even try the chiropractor.

I have read where a bar of soap in the sheets of your bed will help with leg cramping. Alot of people swear by this. Might give it a try

Me, snore? I've been told I do. \:D
I am tired during the day and nod off at the computer from time to time.
Varicose veins...I don't think I have them.

It's not the best video in the world but you can see my muscle and skin move on my calf. That is what they do when I am still.
Click on the photo and it should play.

If I am still they both do it. The entire calf will jump and crawl. It feels creepy. I am thinking aliens. \:\)

I have no idea. I just deal with it and keep them moving so it doesn't drive me nuts.
