I heard on the radio last week that several states are outlawing the use of the cameras. Said that after the lights went in, the number of accidents actually increased. People would slam on the brakes to stop and get rearended.
I know my breaking food gets real responsive when I get near one of those intersections.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. I'm glad the tickets were reversed but to have to go through all that is stupid.

The thinking is that rear-end crashes are typically less severe than angle crashes.

Someone dropped the ball and wasn't doing their job, glad it was reversed. As for the ones who get a ticket for going through a red light, don't feel sorry for you. I hate driving in one of the big cities around us. Come to big intersections and my light is green, but here comes a person blowing through the red light because they don't want to take the time to stop! If you are coming up on a light and it's turned yellow, that means you should be prepared to stop. You rearend the person in front of you when they stop for a red light! Take the bus.
