Nothing like floating the rivers
I grew up floating and working on the Meramec River in Missouri
Some of the best times took place on float trips!

I've floated it 3 or 4 times.....always a good time. Always really hard to walk at the end of the day when you try to stand up......lol
We always stay in the Mark Twain forest in the old corp of engineers cabins. Also ride through the park at night and there are deer everywhere.

Fished it many times around Van Buren and floated it and camped along it in the Nat. Forest hunting one year with Alex from Hunters Specialites. Great smallmouth stream if you have a jet boat. Fair hunting along the banks. Even had a park ranger clue us in to a section that was not in the NF and was full of deer. Just couldn't kill one. Did kill a big tree and caught a ton of fish. Even went sucker spearing one night and went to a tent revival.
Lots to do on that river.

Yea, floated it as well as the eleven point. Great this time of year, although a little cool in turkey season.

Going to float the Current River in Van Buren, Mo this weekend. That water is always cold and will feel good after this weeks heat. We always have a big time, about 12 of us this time going. Anybody else ever been ???????
I went once, many years ago. From what I remember, we did lots and lots a paddling. But that water should feel great.

This time we are staying at the Big Spring RV camp. Renting a house for the weekend. Taking off work Friday and Monday, having a long weekend or mini vacation, what ever way you look at it.........can't wait

floated it the 4th but was like 40 miles abouve VB. where we go a huge spring dumps into the river from a cave it doubles the size of the river after coming in. Talk about cold water where this spring is Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
