Channel 5 ran a news clip last night that had some photos folks took from the base of a tree with the bear in the tree. Channel 3 may have a report tonight.

Let us know if you see him. As of now we haven't heard anything today. We are hoping he will turn north soon.

Any reports of trail cam pics?

Must be hundreds, maybe thousands, of trail cams in use in all the counties this bear has passed thru?

Unless they are like me and many others I associate with. We do not put cams out until mid to late August.

"The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received word that the bear was in a man's yard near Highway 222 before daylight Thursday morning. The location was just .3 miles from I-40."

That's not too far from my inlaws' place where I hunt.

TWRA darted the bear over night in the Lakeland area and now has it in their possession. Local news reported it would be released in the Smoky mountains.

Thats cool that they did that instead of just killing it.

Heck they should just take it up the road to the Hatchie Bottoms and let it go. \:D

I thought this area used to be the bears natural habitat. Wouldn't darting the bear and relocating it be considered "harassing a wild animal" in it's native habitat?
The bear wasn't a threat or a nuisance as far as I could tell...
People just wouldn't leave it alone.

I don't see them removing the alligators from the Wolf River or McKeller Lake. What's the difference between them and this bear?

I say leave them alone and let nature flourish as it can and will.

Great job by TWRA. For those that don't know, he was in a major traffic area. You have Highway 64 and I-40 as major travel routes nearby.

Either he was going to get killed/injured, or someone who hit him would get killed/injured.

His "native habitat" isn't what it used to be.

Good that TWRA made the right decision and did it professionally.
