I don't have all of the particulars yet but I am going to check out a Terry camper this evening. It is aprox. 20' and 12-15 years old.I have only seen it from the outside. A good friend has been in it and said it is extremely clean and in very good condition. It has not been used much{only a couple of times in past 2 years}. The owner needs to sell it desperately and has said he would take $1800.00 this week for it.
I've never owned a camper and only stayed in one that was set-up permanent{in laws} and now that my FIL has passed I don't know who to ask what to check for in this camper??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

pertaining to leaks, from inside-

inspect and poke around with your finger at the ceiling around where the wall meets the ceiling, around any a/c or antenna or plumbing extrusions.

walk it over real good on the floor, check for squishy spots

test run the A/C, test run the fridge

also check for leaks on the wall/floor beneath each window

don't expect it to be pristine in, it's 12-15 years old. Expect to do some work, but for price sounds like a pretty good deal. Even if you have to put some work into it.

This is what I am thinking. Not expecting perfection, but don't want it to fall apart on the pull to my house! Would it be poor etiquette for a 6'3" 225 llb'er to go inside and jump up and down a few times?
They have "plex" lines in them don't they?

pex, not plex

them older ones might have hdpe black pipe

------------------

you don't have to jump around, just take your big toe and push down on the floor around the commode, sink, below windows, door entrance, etc

slide up under too and make sure the holding tanks ain't busted or been dragged over some railroad tracks, stumps

Also, open all enclosures and check for leaks, mold, rot. Get down on floor and look for waves and/or buckling like you would on the roof.

It was a dern good deal-but more camper than what I was lookin for. 1990 22' Terry in excellant condition for $1800. NO AC though. \:\( I am just lookin for something for my son to use bear hunting up in Jefferson National Forrest so he doesn't have to sleep in his truck when they hunt til dark and plan on hunting again the next day, etc. I am basically just going to be his bank{that always works out well :D} for it.
