as long as it ain't pink or chartreusse or some other awful color and if i liked everything else about the truck.

I wouldn't. But that's just me. I'd rather save up and get exactly what I want on a purchase of that size.
Then again, you can't see the color from the driver's seat.

bought a black one cause it was cheap. i hate black , its otterenell in the summer and shows scratches bad. still a great truck.

If the difference of 9 grand is affecting how you think others perceive how YOU look in your vehicle, well..... That money will buy a lot of Alpo when you retire.
If I could save $9,000 on a sound (or new) vehicle just because of a difference of preferred color choice I would jump on the deal. I'm not in kindergarten anymore, I don't have a "favorite color" It could be turkey crap green, I would drive that deal. Heck, bounce some golf ball size hail off of it and knock another $3k off too.
I wouldn't buy new to begin with, unless that above had occured and the discount was available.
