Can't speak for the self propelled part, but I bought a troy-bilt last year and I have been very pleased with it. Started on the first pull straight out of the box and hasn't failed to do so yet.

I had a Troy-Bilt when we had a smaller yard and I loved it. It cut great and never had any trouble with it.

I've never had a Craftsman that didn't at least last me two seasons.
Think I'm gonna look at the Troy-Bilt lineup next time a Craftsman craps out on me.
