Radio that is.

Just wondering if anybody on here is a Ham radio operator. I got interested in ham radio reading about it on another forum totally unrelated to ham radio and was surprised how many licensed operators were on the forum. I actually just got my license just a little over a week ago.

Anybody?

KB4NS here.

hunter3405, ham is, in some ways, similar to CB radio, but there are many more facets to ham radio. As far as voice communications, there are VHF & UHF frequencies for local communications and HF frequencies for long distance communication. There are modes that allow digital communications from computer to computer over the airwaves. Heck, there are even communications that take advantage of using the moon to bounce signals. It'd take half the night to get into everything ham radio has to offer, but it suffices to say that there is something for everyone who is interested.

If anyone wants more info, http://www.arrl.org is a great place to start looking and learning.

Bigorange, congrats and welcome to the hobby!
