I've been looking at maybe trading my truck in on a new one. Been to a few GMC lots and decided to look at the Ford lot in Sevierville. They had a truck I was interested in but it was after hours when the wife and I got there. We walked up to the truck and it's sitting there running with the doors unlocked... must be my lucky day. So I look around the lot to make sure no one is there... nope locked up tight. I called the dealership and this guy answers the phone. I tell him what's going on and he acts like an a$$ to me and tells me not to touch the truck... so I'm thinking if I wanted the dang truck I would have already took off down the road with it... you left the stupid keys in it running and unlocked you moron. I called you so some crack head will not take the truck tonight. So I waited about 20 minutes for someone to show up since now the truck has my fingerprints on it and I'm probably on video... no one. I called the guy back and he says the manager is on the way. Finally some guy that is friends with the owner shows up and is on the phone with the manager and takes the keys out the truck and drives off. Tells me thanks right as he is leaving. Morons.
If I buy a Ford it will not be from Sevierville. Next time I'll let some bum drive off in your $46,000 truck.

Someone probably got fired or written up over that mistake. Maybe the guy you called was responsible...?

You need to contact the owner and let him know that you were treated rudely when you saved their truck from being stolen. It almost sounds like it was on purpose and you foiled someone's plans.

The more I think about it the more I get pissed off. I don't know if there was a plan to steal a truck or not but it really ticks me off for them to tell me not to touch the truck after they left it running and unlocked with the keys in it.
Probably who ever I talked to will cover it up and the owner will never know they left a truck like that.

Yep, I'd speak to the owner too. What have recently found, many managers are not the "quality" they once were.

If it were me, they would know about it tomorrow. If it is McNelly-Whaley, I think the Webb family owns it.

Probably should let them know... I took video of it. I thought it was funny until the guy on the phone acted like I was a crook. The wife and I were both thinking about trading. It will not be with those guys.
One thing is for sure... if I was a crook I would not have called them to let them know about their truck.
