This sounds very familiar. Last year I had what felt like a constant charlie horse in my right shoulder muscles that no muscle relaxers or pain meds would even touch. After steroids shots and a 13 day round of oral steroids with no relief they decided maybe it wasn't my rotator cuff after all. I was unable to lay still in the mri the first time because of the pain. After a couple of valium and some good pain medicine we were able to get the mri. Turns out that i had a pinched nerve between the c5 and c6 disks and the pain radiated to the shoulder joint. I do have a partial tear in the rotator cuff but that is nothing compared to what the nerve was causing. This all took a good 8 weeks to find what the problem was and between the steroids, muscle relaxers and pain meds last summer is a blur.

My friend, I have been fighting it for well over two years. My problem is between C-2 and C-4. The stehroidal injection I get deep in the vertebreal column help a great deal but at some point I'll need surgery. Then they can start on my lumbar region.
There is no way you can describe the pain to anyone. I'll reach for a glass or something and just hit the floor like I had been poleaxed.
