I graduated from MTSU and let me tell you when there are 25+ people smoking outside the entrance to the building and you have to walk by all of them, you smell like you've been at the bar all night. Oh and the guy who is the art student who has to wait on things to dry. I minored in art at MTSU and had 3 hour studio classes and never smoked once. Thats a pretty piss poor excuse.

I graduated from MTSU in 2007. I did it through constant abuse of caffeine, nicotine and free muffins from professors' offices. This falls under the "If you don't like it don't go there" category for me but good luck enforcing it.
I can also name two professors who will retire instantly because of this. 
That bench in the center of Peck Hall will be so lonely now.

Im a smoker and have no objections to MTSU banning smoking, not just the health issues but also the courtesy issues. I try to take my habit away from non-smokers and away from common areas (other than smoking areas). Also hate to see "butts" on the ground, more than once, I have had to empty my stinking pockets.

I did a little stint teaching at MTSU -sounds like I was there while some of you were. I agree, the center of Peck Hall will be a lonely place.
