One of my hunting friends died..I am sad today.

I got that call everyone hates to hear...Gerald call me I have some bad news about Kevin.... Kevin and I met a year ago on a land lease deal. I brokered it for him and he paid for it. He allowed me to hunt for free if I wanted but I never did. He leased it for his family and a friend. His father-in-law was dieing of cancer and he wanted some place they could all hunt. In October his father-in-law died and it was just him, his brother-in-law and a friend who hunted the lease. We stayed in contact and I went by to see them from time to time while they were hunting. He was one of a kind. Always had a nice thing to say. He renovated an old house on his lease and paid to have the electricity run to it so his family would be comfortable. The last time we talked he was heading to the opener of turkey season in Ky. He asked when we needed to get the lease money together. I told him not to worry we had plenty of time. It was early yet and the lease was still his. I sent him an email with the lease details 3 weeks ago and never heard anything. I sent him a text message 2 weeks ago and nothing. I knew something was wrong.... the caller was not his normal friendly voice. I called him back and he said Kevin had died Wednesday. He had developed some kind of rare neurological issue that had only 5 know cases in the US. It started around Memorial day and ended Sunday with a massive stroke and he passed on Wednesday.. My heart sank and is heavy today. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and son and a very close nit family. Remember them in your prayers. Kevin was a class act and I will miss him very much..TH64
