Thinking about a trip out thru them about that time of year. Anyone ever travel there that time of year. May just keep going and visit Salt lake city and Reno before heading home. Wife has never been out west except to Vegas by airplane and we are not getting any younger.. \:D

Oh yeah. Went out there deer hunting in 1974. We had such a good time, we went back the following summer. I think it was July. Remember standing at the marker at the Continental Divide and it was sleeting. Beautiful country any time of the year. I would love to go back.

I was in Grand Junction Colorado 1st of September 1985 and 87, nothing like it at 8,000 feet above sea level that time of the year, if your hot stand in the shade, cool stand in the sun, 30 degree nights, just perfect, no snakes, mosquitoes, chiggers or ticks, life in the outdoors got no better

Grew up in MT. Days will be pleasant, more than likely chilly at night. If you are up above 5000, the nights will be cold. Had frost in August in the Bighorn Mtns just north of Yellowstone. If you are travelling I15 through Utah, find roads that parallel it south of Salt Lake City, beautiful country.

Been many times. Great time to go. Sggest fly to Denver and ret a car and drive to Steamboat through Rabbit Ears. Stau in Steamboat and take day trips.
