$4000 for 14 of us. Private pool, 5 br. Its gonna be expensive on the beach, its not a camping trip. If you want the econo package try Myrtle beach
We've used Meyer for the past 8 years

Not looking for the econo trip. Be six adults and two kids. I figure we can do it with a three bedroom. Private pool is okay but no big deal. However, it must be on the beach and in the Gulf Shores area.
Since we do not eat in restrants, do all our own cooking, that cuts the cost quite a bit and is a lot more fun. I hit the markets and sometimes the docks early and get shrimp at a good price. The we grill out a lot and lunch is always just serve yourself sandwiches or leftovers.
I am not a tourist so I spend my time in a chair, on the sand, reading and watching. Early in the morning, I fish or take pictures. I don't care what the rest of them do.

Try Meyers reality ......no trouble in 8 years. That's what we do, sit on the beach. Grill several meals, eat out a couple times.

I've had consistently good results from vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). They cover the map, so we've stayed in places I've contacted through them in Pensacola, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and more. Anything from a one bedroom studio to a 5 bedroom farmhouse. Great variety.
