Trivia: Robert Redford was a pall-bearer at Liver Eater Johnson/Johnston's burial. Well, the mt. man's second burial in 1974(?) I remember seeing a photo of this somewhere along the line.

Absolutely the very best movie ever made in my opinion. My 7 yr. old grandson loves it too but i have to be careful of the language in a couple of places. I never get tired of watching that movie!!

Watched it and enjoyed the popup notes about the movie...

Crazy guy.." is this the way they come, one at the time." Be glad they're Crows, if they were Apache they'd send a 100 at once."
The scene where he sees the same Indian that he saw when he first got out there and was trying to catch those trout with his hands. This time, he was expecting the Indian to charge him like all the others had and the Indian held his hand up as a sign of peace or maybe respect, I'm not sure. Classic moment in a classic movie.

Never knew it was in b/w.
Yep, saw it right off. We only had a black and white TV...one of those huge monsters that looked like a cabinet and had a little bitty screen. It was particulary good for watching Dr. Shock and Nurse Goodbody on as well as Dark Shadows. Dang, you must be as old as I am. Nurse Goodbody wonder how many can name the show she was on. Dark shadows predates that one by quite a bit. Started my love for vampires.
