My cousins dog got or (or so we thought) so we went driving around the neighborhood. I saw a creature scurrying across the street and thought it was the dog from down the street. We hurried up the street in the car and stopped where the animal was. It crouched down behind an oak tree, and we could only see its head. After shining it with a flash light for 2+ minutes, i got out of the car and tried to walk towards it, it ran across the yard and into another yard and disappeared. I have been in the woods since i was 4, and can name most animals that i come in contact with, or at least have a little bit of knowledge with them.
I have never seen an animal that looks like this. It look a little bit like a fox, but looked to be completely hairless. Had a sleek body, and a tail that was almost as long as its body, but was a little bit dark, like a gray color. Could have been a fox, but i think with a flashlight on it i would have been able to recognize it a little bit.
This was also right off germantown parkway in memphis, in a heavily populated area with no woods around.
