the charger cord comes from the transformer which you plug into the wall... it takes 110 volts AC and drops it to only a few volts DC to charge the device. You could stick your tongue on the bare wires and it might taste sour (try a battery) but it wouldn't give you any real shock.
How you know its gonna taste sour?

Put your tongue on the terminals of a 9v battery... preferably one that is low on juice... hard to describe the feeling but it seems to taste sour in a way  Not very pleasant but funny to watch people try it.

Yeah. I just wanted to see what you would say.
I didnt know there was any other way to test a nine volt, other than to stick it to your tongue. HA!
