Looks like some genuine reds, Good eating to! We fish down near Ft. Jefferson out of key west and they can get pretty big but u got yourself a nice one there. How deep were you fishing?

I went deep sea fishing out of the Daytona area less than a month ago and they told us that red snapper were not legal to keep due to some state/federal law. Saw several nice ones tossed back. Sea bass were also out of season until June 1st, and we fished May 26. Wasn't told about the closed seasons until had already paid and about to board the boat. But the way they talked, they didn't know when the red snapper would open back up.

Very nice fish, you beat me for sure, cause I couldn't afford to get out in a boat on our trip. It's gotta be a blast... I will make it happen one day

What an amazing fish.
I have been on three deep see fishing trips, but none compare to a little boat about 15 miles out, catching grouper. Sounds a lot like your trip.
Congrats!!!
