My son whos is 4 has been in Florida with his grandparents for the last week or so. I got a instant message from my wife yesterday saying she missed him and wanted to go down there to see him. She had called my parents already and set everything up, just wanted to make sure it was ok with me to use my card to pay for the ticket.
She went though hotwire.com whom Ive never used and with one day notice got a round trip ticket for here there and back and a 1 way ticket for my son to fly back to ohio for under 500.00 which IMO wasnt that bad since it was on one day notice. She leaves here in a couple hours and will be on the beach with him sometime tomarrow enjoying herself and my son and family.

I have heard that you can get the best deals sometimes a day or 2 before the flight because they are trying to fill the plane and they will cut some really good deals to fill the flight.

Good deal, fyi, I always try to fly Southwest, they have one way "get away" tickets really cheap. You just but a one way ticket to where you are going and a one way ticket back. It has saved me alot of money. Matter of fact, my wife is flying tomorrow to Virginia Beach to see our daughter who is in the navy stationed there, and fly back next week for under $200.
