For those of you that live in Memphis, some of you might even work for them, the area around the park here was out of power from the storms yesterday and we called them to report the outage for the community by the park and half of our park(the half I live on). Well as of tonight they restored power to the area around the park but forgot about the folks that called them in the first place, the park. Its irritating to see all the lights on coming into the park only to see total darkness when I get in the park.

Yep! Sounds like Memphis Light Gas and Robbery!

But I gotta giv em credit for one thing though.
After Hurricane Elvis, they finally figured out that they gotta bring in outside help to get power restored as fast as possible.

Get ahold of Chaneylake. Quite a few MLGW employees are club members, maybe he can "hook you up"....

LOL

Drake and Zeke were saying earlier that some MLGW employees said that in order to NOT pay out overtime, MLGW sent them home and got some outside workers to keep working on the power situation....??

they are looking in to it....

stay tuned??

That sucks, man. We didn't loose any power in the Cooper Young neighborhood, but there were some other parts of Midtown that did. -guess I'm going to get some more firewood today.

That's Memphis for you. My brother has worked for the utility company in Jackson for 25 years, when the tornado or straight line wind that hit Memphis a few years ago that did so much damage, Memphis called Jackson for help. They all loaded up to help. Once everything was restored, they said they wouldn't go back to help Memphis just for the way they were treated when they got there to help.

It could be the way the grid is set up. Back in 2003, Hurricane Elvis took out the power at the house I lived in across from CBU. We were an island unto ourselves, being the ONLY house without power after about day 5. Took them another 6 days to come back. Turns out, they just overlooked our connection.

However, sometimes they can't fix your grid until the one it's connected to is back up.

Our power went out about 2 and came back an hour or so later. Those are roughly the times. I was really looking forward to watching Indians against Yankees as I am a big Indians fan and hardly ever get to see em. It started at 6. At 5 to 6 the power went back out. The Tribe won a great game 1-0, five minutes after the game ended around 9pm the power came back on LOL

I am pretty sure what happened was they got the power to my area fixed and as they were fixing other areas and adding to the grid one of them knocked it back out. Not MLGW fault. The grids are funny and dont always go where you think they will/should.

I heard the workers are on 16 hour shifts trying to get everyone back on, so I doubt it's there fault. But, call MLGW and try to talk to someone with an IQ above 50 that speaks English. Good luck.
