I have a 30 page .pdf. I need to send someone pages 3 to 6. I have Adobe Reader X, the home version. Can I "pluck out" and make a pdf out of 4 pages of a 30 page pdf?

The only other solution I can think of is to print off those 4 pages then scan them back in as a pdf.

Any hints?

You should be able to make a copy of the document and delete what you do not want on the copy or you could print the pages you want to a file instead of a printer and send that file.

I use a little dandy of a program I downloaded from file hippo. It is called Primo-PDF. There is a basic free version.

Engineers sometimes submit their project plans to me in multi page PDF format. I don't give a flip anout their stormwater mgt, erosion control, grading plan pages etc. I simply want the title page and water/sewer utility distribution sheets out of that master PDF parent document.

Primo PDF will let me "print" the selected pages to a "virtual printer" which essentially extract them as individual PDFs in their own right. They are then simply directed a destination file I can browse to and I can then distribute via email to our civils and also onto our plotter if I want physical full format copies.

I can print to an XPS file. I don't know what that is. Apparently I have it because I have Windows 7 but I have no idea if the recipient does. Some things are overly complicated, you know?

Nah, I'm not ignoring you. I was downloading and using the program you suggested. It works sweet. Thanks!

Goggle Cutepdf

It's a free program that does everything the $300 Adobe Acrobat "writing" program does.

Just follow the simple directions and you'll be pleased.

Here you go:
http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp

Be sure to also download the free GPL Ghostscript 8.15 where it says "download free converter".

Promise, it's very simple for a civil engineer. ;\)
This program creates or converts anything to .pdf files, which anyone can then open with Adobe Reader.
