I got a email that you could tape a penny to a sting and the copper would counter act the sting? Anyone ever heard of or tried this?

Never heard that one.
Always heard either take some dip or chew out of your mouth and put it on there, or wet the tobacco out of a smoke and put that on there.
The wetting of pipe backer "might" not be true. I always heard it was sa... salav..... spit mixed with tobacco juice that done it. I dip and haven't been impressed with the results. I will however try the penny. Never hurts to try!

Never tried the penny, but I can vouch for the tobacco. It hasn't seemed to matter what kind, pipe, cigarette, cigar, etc.

I never heard of the penny thing. I dont smoke, but I keep cigarettes in the truck for bee stings. (Wet the tobacco and put it on the sting)

Ice and benedryl. But that's only for yellow jackets or red wasps. That's my home remedy.
As for honeybees, their stings aren't as bad in my opinion.

I have always used meat tenderizer, but if I'm out in the woods then it is tobacco.

Not sure about the penny, but I have used the tobacco wet with spit many times. Regular chewing tobacco, dip, and cigarrettes have all been used.
I decided one time that the tobacco really didn't work and it was all in my head. I decided to wait it out. It didn't take long for me to give in, and the tobacco provided instant relief. I don't dip or chew but have some on hand for this reason.

Meat tenderizer works best at the sting site and if you have an allergic reaction take an Antihistamine to keep the swelling down.
