I was looking at the AF Museum in Wright-Pat this evening, and was surprised to see that Bock's Car was there.

I saw Enola Gay at the Smithsonian annex a few years ago; looks like time to make a trip to Dayton.

That sucks big time! Not too many B-17's around anymore. I went up for a ride in this one, best money I spent. My grandfathers brother was a ball turret gunner in one. He was shot down once and bailed out once. Did his 25 missions and survived WWII. He was a tough ol SOB.

Few people know that more than twice as many Army Air Corps crewman bombing Germany were killed in WWII, than Marines. In fact, almost as many as the entire KIA total for the entire Pacific Theater.

The flyboys may have had the glamor tag attached to them, but they sure paid a heavy price.
