I can remember when use of 2way radios was a prohibited act in the use for deer hunting.
But that is going back probably 20 years.

I can remember when use of 2way radios was a prohibited act in the use for deer hunting.
But that is going back probably 20 years.
in tennessee? we have been using them for a lot longer than 20 years and never heard of such in tennessee. i know in some other states they are illegal.

We use them at the beginning of any hunt to make sure everyone got to their spot and are set up OK; anyone climbing is in their stand, sitting down, and safety-harnessed in.
One person (designated beforehand) will leave his radio on in case someone calls and needs help; everyone else shuts down.
I know a couple of guys text during the hunt; I don't because I'm trying to be still and quiet - and I can't see the screen well enough to read it anyway.

I can't see the screen well enough to read it anyway.
me too i try to set still as possible where i won't scare anything off that comes threw.but i use mine incase something happens to one of my other hunters

We did use them they would work for 2 miles apart. Too noisy with the beep then squeal. We just text now

i kight have to get me some phoines that will text and thats it.with no calling exsept for 911 that is LOL.but i might have to learn some of my buddys how to text on a phone though.
