LOL, I watched some of the music award show last night, but I just had to turn the channel when I seen a rapper singing with a country artist, and when that Justin Bieber kid came out to get an award. LOL
I wish Johnny Cash, and George Jones still made music.

Country music died about 35 years ago.
Today's "country" is 1970s pop music.

I liked it. There is still some good country out there. If you think country died years ago then I guess so did rock and every other type of music  I will give you the Justin Pooper shouldn't have been there and kinda liked Ludda being there but then again it was a country award show. Kid rock did it again! Lots of fun to watch enjoyed it. I do enjoy the older country but like everything else in the world change is going to happen!
While I love true country music, I have to agree with you. There is no way Jennings, Bob Wills, Charlie Pride, Don Williams, and the other greats will ever be replaced. There music will live on forever and there are not many artist out there that will ever be able to match their music. There are still a few artist that put out music that sounds like the older stuff, but they're not main stream. The new stuff from main stream country is what it is, some of it isn't bad. I'm just glad I can still listen to the greats of country music and don't have to rely on today's artist to fill the void.

Stuff like that is about what's popular, not about what's good.
Justin Bieber and most pop artists like him don't deserve any awards. Unless it's an award for being the most unoriginal or using the most autotune.
Some of the best music is not very famous. It may be well known but it doesn't usually make top charts... people like the catchy brain numbing stuff rather than the good music. And it's about making money so everyone makes the crap so they sell a lot of music...

I tend to like this new rock'n country stuff. I even get a kick out of listening to Colt Ford. I don't care for the POP country though. Just kind of bland. I also like the old whiney songs.
Had a great time at the Willie nelson show last night. Randy Houser, Jamie Johnson and Brantley Gilbert put on a great show. Willie started off a little rough but it was fun watching a living legend. Cops were out in force roaming around so not to much crazy stuff being smoked.

Real country music is music from the country. There is is very little country music because there is very little country culture left. Country folks were duped a long time ago into believing that they were dumb, buck toothed, hillbillies. Within 2 or 3 generations, we've gone from a proud self sufficient, rural culture to satellite dishes, Walmart lines and drug abuse. Contemporary Nashville is simply serving up a dish of "I know your life sucks, but just listen to these happy, 70's power ballads about nothing and everything will be ok."
