About 3 years ago I bought a TC Triump Muzzleloader from Gander Mountain in Knoxville. It was priced $50 less than the exact same model at Bass Pro. Don't remember if it was on sale or anything, just that I had been thinking about getting one, saw one at Gander for less than either Cabela's or Bass Pro, and bought it Johnny-on-the-spot. Have done similarly with several other items.
When I'm in Knoxville, it's ofen convenient for me to run over to Gander and just enjoy browsing around, while it's usually over an hour out of my way to do the same at the Sevierville Bass Pro. On average, Ganders prices seem higher than Bass Pro, but same can be said for Target vs. Walmart, etc. Nice to have either close by, and the Bass Pro in Nashville is very "close by" every time I drive thru.
doesn't hold a candle to bass pro i have dealt with both for years and can't see that much difference. My experience as well.

Academy Sports is better if you ask me
BPS in Sevierville is right at 90 miles for me, one way. I like going there but with the ole 18 MPG truck, that gets expensive. It totally offsets any "savings" by shopping there vs the other stores.
Gander @ Turkey Creek is 53 miles from me. They are what I call a "variety" outdoor store. Not just hunting and fishing but a little of everything. I too think they are ungodly priced on some things; particularly firearms. I noticed that all their Remington longguns were pretty much what Remington has on their website as MSRP.
Academy @ Shallowford RD in Chatt is just 40 miles from me. I had never been down there til my wife had her lasik done just right across the street from it. Surgery was 2hrs long so I hopped over there for a few minutes and was pretty impressed. Once again, a large selection of "just about everything" and quite a bit in the fishing stuff too. Everything I saw was priced pretty good although I didn't look at any of their firearms.
