less than a week with a bow under my belt, and im able to smack a skoal can from 20yds quiet a few times....is that decent?

keep it up, remember to practice from a height that is about the same as where u intend to hunt
yeah I plan to once I get some more time and a stand in an area where I can. I dont really have any trees in my subdivision.
I have been shooting on a downward slope.

I shoot from the roof of my garage to practice.
interesting. I dont think i would do too well climbing on a sloped roof with a bow and something to puncture me when I fall off..haha

I would love to do that if the opportunity arises. I would have to get more practice at higher yardage and my other pins sighted in.
