Howas thread and replies got me thinking about it.

Thought it might be comical, looking back on some of the things your dogs have destroyed.

Mine is almost 7 mos old, and thankfully, hasn't destroyed too much. I guess the most trouble he has got into is plucking flower blooms from my wife's newly bloomed flowers.

smallest dog we have ever had is my wife's little Yorkie. She is a year old now and in the first six months she destroyed the floor in the kitchen, usb cables for keyboard and mouse on pc. cords on my Triton headset for PS3. door jambs and baseboards in the den. Dog is less than 6 pounds and was a terror.

She has stopped nad not chewed in 3 months now.

House parts{lab}

Many years ago we agreed to take my wifes sisters maltese. A year later we bought their house from them and fixed the linoleum, wallpaper and carpet that he had torn-up. They named him Chance when they bought him because there was a chance they would keep him and a chance that they would not!
I remember buying a new couch one day after we had him from a local furniture store and gave them the keys to the house for delivery{the good ol days} and it was delivered at 3:00. By the time I got home @ 5:00 it was NOT RECOGNIZABLE! He run oft that night! ;\)

He also had to be quarantined for a month{before we got him} for biting the mailman! He just didn't care for anybody in a uniform coming up on the porch!
He was a 4lb maneater! \:D

Had a male chocolate lab that had attached to me. When the Army had sent me away for a few months, the dog chewed up the couch twice, chewed up my daughters math book and homework, then chewed up her JROTC uniform. My daughters teacher and JROTC Sergeant Major got a good laugh out of it when she told them.

I had my wife work with the dog for a few weeks and even tried drugs the vet gave us. Didnt work. Had to give the dog away as our current plans had me living in GA for a couple years (12-16 hour days as a Drill Sergeant...ended up going to AZ instead) and the family remaining in KY. Last I heard the dog was enjoying chasing and riding on a tractor just north of Louisville.

Ours chewed a leg off an antique side table. The one I will never forgive him for was the pair of 3 inch black heels that I could wear all day and even run in. 3 years of searching and that style is nowhere to be found.

The most expensive thing would be a part of a pillow case. It had fallen beside the crate. Expensive because of the surgery. It was my fault for not seeing that a pillowcase was touching the side of his crate. Our dogs aren't big chewers, we've moved there crates away from our bed, and haven't had any incidents.

Once had a medium-sized mixed breed inside dog named "Benji". Was a great dog, but one day he went crazy (inside) while we were away for a few hours.

Had left an unopened gift-wrapped 2-lb box of Godiva chocolate high on a dresser (where thought he couldn't get to it). Remains a mystery as to how he got to it, but he not only got to it, but he ate all 2 pounds of expensive chocolate, along with most of the box.

That made him very sick. Surprised he survived.
He then proceeded to throw up pieces of box and chocolate all over the house, crap liquid stool all over the house, then "dig a hole" in a new couch. At first thought burglars had torn apart the house. Other than that, Benji had been, and continued to be a great dog until he died a few years later.

My English Setter destroyed the antlers and skull plate from my very first buck. A friend was going to show me how to mount the head myself and I had the antlers sitting on the carport while I took the cape inside to put in the freezer.

No, I did not hurt the dog and she died of old age many years ago, but it did go thru my mind at the time.

Antlers from first buck..............................priceless!

Hmmm, let's see. I would leave my boat covered at my parents house behind the gate in the backyard. Just go over and get it when needed. Not this past winter, but the winter before that, my mom's dog decided to make my boat her home. Clawed a hole through my ratchet cover and camped out in the boat, I guess. When I went over one day to charge the batteries and run the motor on the water hose, I saw the big hole in the cover. Took it off and found my trolling motor cable chewed in half, from the head to the foot pedal, as well as my prop on the trolling motor. Wiring harness for trailer lights, chewed off. Ratchet straps on trailer chewed in half. Dang dog started gnawing on the end of the throttle handle, too. To make it worse, the buckle straps for my passenger seat at the console were chewed off, too, as well. Dog was an inside dog for the most part and never had the first problem with her chewing on stuff until then and then the aggression turned towards any other dog, outta the blue. Dog is no longer with us.

Dresser, mattress, bed covers, pillows, shoes, socks, cell phone cases, fan electrical wire, china cabinet, dining table legs, all the dining table chairs, a recliner, about 10 leashes and a few collars, tore up two kennels, holes everywhere outside, holes chewed in carpet, ate top layer from wood floor of inside kennel I built.

It would take me days to remember and type everything.

It's our fault though cause they have nowhere to run and play and burn off their high energy everyday.
