I have a beautiful male yellow lab with AKC papers that I will let go for free to a good home. He is a good natured dog, good with the kids, not a mean bone in his body, I'm just fed up with all the chewing. He is literally eating my house from the outside, and I cannot take anymore. He is right at a year old, all shots are up to date, and he is "fixed" already. He's a big one, very light yellow, almost a creamy white. I am in Erin Tn which is close to Clarksville/Dover/Ft. Campbell/Dickson/Waverly/etc. You can pm me here, or email clardy4@peoplestel.net If you are seriously interested then contact me and I will give you my phone number.

Yes, it is. I hate the idea of putting him in a kennel or tied to a tree all day. He is crate-trained and sleeps in a crate in the garage at night.

Darn good looking dog ya got there. Just buy him a big chew toy and hang in there a while longer. He is just bored. I used to buy mine smoked cow leg bones at a meat locker plant, that kept him out of trouble.

Hang in there. The field labs like that one (long and lanky) are notorious chewers. A few more months should make a difference

X2!!! I did the samething with my knucleheaded chocolate lab to keep him from eating through walls, window sills, doors, etc..., as others have said you are almost through the chewing phase and with proper chew objects your problem will be corrected almost instantly. He is a beautiful lab by the way!

I have a 3 yr old yellow lab. He quit chewing at about 1 and a half years. He's just bored because he's smart and spends a lot of time alone. Get him something tasty to chew and he'll leave the house alone.

Beautiful dog. He is close to getting done with chewing. Give him room to run, toys to occupy his time and take him for a walk or two a day.

X3 Get him several different chew toys and rawhide chews.
Also, mine stays in his crate while we are away. We are able to let him out at lunch, though.

you could make a dog lot away from the house. leave him in the lot when u are not home. that keeps him from wandering and getting into trouble.

good looking dog!
if only I could afford another.
Mine is 2 1/2 now and luckly has not chewed up anything other than her bones, I do have a couple hundred in bones at this point though. she still loves to chew on her bones but knows the difference between hers and mine.
Wayne hope he works out great for you if you take him.

My Dixie Girl is doing pretting good (9 month old lab) that JAY B gave us.
She gets walked 2 miles twice daily. And stays in her 32x16 ft enclosure mostly while we are at work.
She chews on the older beagle we have. But we also have plenty a .99 cent 'squeaky' toys. Per Chaneylake.
We have not experience a lot of nuisance chewing with her. She is a great dog and extremely intelligent. She taught herself how to open the gate latches and let herself out if the kennel, lol
we also keep plenty of rawhide chewies for her. Although I have noticed her lately chewing on her plastic kiddie pool we have for her.
I will say that we have trained ourselves to be mindful to "puppy proof" the yard. There are also plenty of barn cats for her to chew on too. Lol
