So the new plate diagram that has replaced the old pyramid...
I don't completely agree with it but it seems OK. Except for one problem....
For Fruits, it says Fruits. For Vegetables, it says Vegetables. For Grains, it says Grains. For Dairy, it says Dairy. For Meat, it says "Protein".
Is it just me or is this biased towards vegetarians? There's no denying that humans are, and have always been, meat-eaters. Why change the wording so the few veg eaters aren't left out?
Again, is it just me being nit picky or something? I want my thick juicy meat, not just the "protein"

That would be under the 'grain' section.

Most people know what protein is. If they're vegetarians (Which I have no problem with in practice as long as they don't force their view on others) then they'll pick a veggie alternative. If they're omnivores like the rest of us it'll be meat.
In the grand scheme of governmental problems I can't get too worked up over it.

My answer is that for "fruits", there are no other sources except for fruits. Same for the other categories. But a healthy, balanced diet includes portions from each of those food groups. Of the "protein" arena, there are many non-meat based proteins that will still qualify, whether you obtain them from fish, soybeans, cows, nuts, or other sources. Meat does have essential nutrients that are unobtainable through other sources, but you can live a healthy lifestyle without meat-based protein.
However, I think they're all a bunch of whackos. Knock the horns off, wipe its a$$, and throw it on a plate for me.

Sounds right to me.
