Dear Stephen,

On Thursday, June 3, American Family Association delivered 474,161 petition signatures to Home Depot chairman Frank Blake. AFA also addressed the board of directors and shareholders during their annual meeting.

AFA Vice-president Buddy Smith appealed to Chairman Blake to review Home Depot's extensive support for homosexual activism and direct the company toward neutrality in the culture war.

Chairman Blake quickly discounted the petitions by reaffirming Home Depot's commitment to dedicating corporate resources to groups who advocate gay marriage and the advancement of homosexuality and transgenderism.

In part, Chairman Blake said, "I hope all of our shareholders understand that we're a company that respects the diversity of our associates, our customers, and the communities where we do business." Listen to his full reply here.

Home Depot is sponsoring "Southern Maine Pride" in Portland, Maine next weekend. Last year, Home Depot set up a Kid's Workshop booth at the event. Children were exposed to "drag queens," nudity, and other homosexual activities.

AFA is promoting a boycott of Home Depot until it agrees to remain neutral in the homosexual culture war.

I haven't been in a HD since I found this out several years ago. They can keep their chit.

Haven't been in HD in many years since I got throwed out. The short version of the story, I was needing a load of lumber to do a job, asked for some help to sit the high pallet on the floor so I could load my own, waited and waited, so after several request and 45 minutes later, I got on the forklift to do it myself. Man, you should have seen the people come out of the woodwork, telling me I can't do that. I just simply said if they can't help me, I'll help myself. Then I got ask to leave. I said a few unpleasant things and have not been back since.

Actually, I'm gonna request cancellation of my HD credit card this eve. I just got some type of notice of inactivity on it, so I figure now is a good time to cancel, and to let them know why. ;\)

I suggest boycotting them until they turn the stores around and :

1. Provide quality products and stop putting incomplete/damaged/returned items on the shelf as new.

2. Provide quality service. Stop hiding from customers who need help, and hire/pay employees that actually KNOW something, or at least train them to know which side of the store lumber is on.

HD used to be an outstanding company but has really gone down hill.

If they cant even provide a consistent minimum quality of products and services, then their crappy politics don't matter.

I haven't visited a Home Depot in some time, but this bad news to me. I guess our area is different, because I've always got great customer service there. Never had any issues with products either. I hate Lowe's. Lowe's refused to give me my mail in rebate. There reason was I picked the item up and didn't have it delivered. They had no notice that the product must be delivered to receive the rebate.
