I am about to get one... what apps have the iPhone users on here found useful in the field? Camera, texting, and GPS, obviously, anything else?

Everybody else must have Droids ! Do they not use the same apps? The apps for iPhone and Droid are written in two different codes/languages so they are not interchangeable.

Winchester ballistics as already mentioned, GPSlite (battery hog), Sunrise & Sunset lite, Primos Hunting call, Free Turkey calls, Leafsnap, Google Earth. Some of these apps' names may have changed or they may not be available today as I downloaded them over the last two years.
I have read great things about the cabelas outdoors App "Recon" but I have not used it. The description at the link below sounds very cool. It was developed by Trimble which is a respectable company. That alone gives me some confidence that it is a good app but I do not know for sure. My biggest concern with this app as with many others is that it will drain my battery faster than I can keep it charged. http://cabelas.trimbleoutdoors.com/ http://www.appbrain.com/app/cabelas-recon-hunt/com.trimble.outdoors.cabelas.hunt

Does the iPhone not come with GPS software already installed? It comes with a cool app called "Maps" which has Google imagery as the back drop but it does not perform like my hand held Garmin GPS 60Cx does. GPSlite is comparable to the 60Cx for the most part but it is a battery hog so I rarely use it in the field.
