One of these years, I'm gonna have to go. A weekend of music would have to be fun. That and watching idiots do what they do best.

If I didn't have to deal with the crowds,it probably wouldn't be to bad.

There is a festival called Hippie Jacks at a farm on the elk river every memorial weekend...It is absolutley one the best kept secrets in the region as far as a live music festival goes...

My Father-in-Law used to kinda be over all the Budweiser sales there and asked every year if I wanted to come out to "help", but after hearing all his stories about people doing "the dirty" in the bushes, the weed smoking, and other craziness that goes on there I decided it's probably not the best place for me. Though they have been getting more and more good music in the last few years. It started out as 99% hippie crap that I've never heard of.

Agreed. I hate those types. I'm sure a few decent people show up but get them out and drop a bomb on it and we've solved 10% of the drug problem in America.

In the past few years, there has been a few bands I'd like to see. I just don't want to pay the ridiculous price and deal with the crowds.

Riverbend starts this week end in Chatt town and to me is a better deal . 30 bucks you get a pin for 9 nights , 5 stages and probably 60 or 70 different bands . This year has Huey Lewis and the News , Beach Boys , THE Machine with Chattanooga Syphony Orchestra playing Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon , Miranda Lambert , Alan Jackson , and Kellie Pickler . Lot of the smaller stages have some great music too . I was done with Riverbend and the crowds but last year had one sweet deal fall in my lap so while it last we gonna be rockin and rolling .

One of these days I am gonna have to go too. Only if there are bands there I really want to see. I can't afford it... spending extra money on hobbies and all.

My accountant and my attorney take a motorhome and do the Bonnaroo deal. They've been trying to get me to go for a few years but I always have something going on. Looks like it would be a fun time...

I wonder how many will die this year? Seems some always end up dead.

Just an fyi for anyone that uses that stretch of interstate. Today (Wednsday) is NOT the day to be there so if you can use an alternate route it would be advised.
Don't plan on getting off on the AEDC exit either. You MUST have a legitimate reason to exit on that ramp or have military ID present....

Bowdacious I live about 10 minutes from it and have several friends that work it and lots that go. It is nothing like some think. I am told that it is lots of fun and yes there are drugs and hippies but the rednecks and college kids out way the so called powders Good music good beer and lots of people to watch! That's pretty much what the boys have told me. If I ever go, I'll wave on my way by.

Wife just got back from the Hellmart in Mboro. Its packed with smelly hippies cloggin up the checkouts buying beer with loose change and paying for everything separately.
Guess they need to charge the bladders before they get there.
I would rather stick my head in a running dryer full of ball peen hammers.
